Do you have an idea for a dream machine?
We invite you to upload your idea(s):
1/ Invent your Dream Machine - anything goes (well..., almost), as long as you really, really want it!
2/ Make a drawing of it - could be small or big, simple or complicated - you choose!
3/ Take a picture of your drawing and upload it - and receive your personalised MyMachine Diploma as Dream Machine Inventor!
tip: —upload your idea in your own language (it doesn't have to be English)—
OPEN CALL TO ALL PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS AROUND THE WORLD:
Are you a teacher in primary school and want to join? It’s really easy: this is how it works:
1/ have the children in the primary class invent and draw their Dream Machine(s) using our template to make drawings; use our guidelines to organise this one to two hour session in the classroom;
2/ upload the drawings to our World Map of ideas before 28 February 2021 (it takes about 3 minutes per drawing to upload);
3/ you as a teacher will receive via mail a personalised MyMachine Inventors Diploma for each uploaded idea.
SELECTION OF IDEAS:
In March 2021 we will pick a limited amount of ideas (from each continent if possible). University students (product designers) in Belgium (Howest University) and Mexico (Monterrey Tech) will then bring those selected ideas to life.
If an idea from your class gets chosen, then:
1/ we will notify you personally;
2/ with your class you will be able to see work-in-progress pictures and/or videos from the university students;
3/ you will be able to see pictures and/or videos from the final result: a proof-of-concept made by the university students!
IF A DREAM MACHINE IDEA FROM YOUR CLASSROOM GETS SELECTED
then we expect you to show the university students’ results (photos and/or videos) to the students in your class and send us back some (smartphone-) pictures and/or videos showing how your students respond to the proof-of-concept.
For teachers who want to join with their class:
here you can find our Guidelines and Template
As part of our MyMachine DreamsDrop 2020 Campaign, we have picked 15 dream machine ideas from this world map: from Mexico, Ecuador, South Africa, Mozambique and India. They have been designed and build by students at the School of Industrial Product Design at Howest University of Applied Sciences (Belgium): take a look at the wonderful results.
